Government Electric Car Grant Explained
Electric cars just got a lot cheaper thanks to a £650 million grant from the UK government. You can now save up to £3,750 on a brand new EV with no paperwork required.
Here's how it works: The greenest EVs that are under £37,000 will receive a discount of £3,750, while other qualifying vehicles get a discount of £1,500.
The grant was launched in July, and qualifying vehicles are landing at dealerships in the next couple of weeks. There's no paperwork from yourself - everything's done automatically. You don't have to apply for the discount; it's all done for you.
If your company uses salary sacrifice, the £3,750 government grant can save you up to £100 per month. Combined with salary sacrifice, that's an additional saving of £180 back in your pocket.
For employers, this is the perfect time to set up an electric car scheme within your workplace. You'll be saving your employees money, working towards Net Zero, and it's much greener for the planet we live on.
With these additional savings, it couldn't be a better time to make savings and get into an electric car. If you'd like to find out what cars are eligible for the new grant, reach out to our friendly EV specialist team today - we'll be more than happy to help with the new government grants on top of the salary sacrifice scheme.
