Our Journey So Far

The Past

In 2020, Founders Thom Groot & Tom Eilon set out to lease an electric car through the government’s tax incentives. They were offered over priced deals, and told the could only access the savings if they employed 1,000 people or more.

So they built a way for smaller businesses to offer the benefit too, giving more employers and employees access to the best deals on the market. That’s how The Electric Car Scheme began.

We launched in 2021. More than 100 businesses joined the pilot, and investors backed us to grow as fast as we could. We built the team, the technology and service to help both SME and Enterprise business unlock EVs through salary sacrifice.

The Present

Today we're a team of 120+ talented people, all working to help as many people in the UK switch to electric as possible. Hundreds of thousands of employees can now access the scheme through their employer, and we've called The Shipping Building in Hayes, London home for a few years now.

But electric cars were never going to be enough for us. We've already grown beyond The Electric Car Scheme, with The Charge Scheme helping employees save on charging at home, at work and on the go. We're still The Electric Car Scheme, but today we're so much more.

The Future

We started with EV, but we’re not stopping there.

We work tirelessly with government and industry to unlock more ways for employees and employers to save money and cut carbon through salary sacrifice. We’re aiming to double the business every year.

From EV to even more. We’re building a growing portfolio of Net Zero Benefits, and we’re here to make net zero the obvious choice. We need brilliant people to help us get there.
