We have launched the UK’s first subscription-based salary sacrifice scheme for electric cars
This now makes it possible for businesses, in particular start-ups, to access government tax savings on electric cars.
Who is eligible for subscription?
We have partnered with some of the UK’s leading electric car subscription providers, to provide salary sacrifice schemes for all types of businesses and their employees. A subscription offers a hassle-free alternative to owning a car or committing to a long-term lease.
With your monthly subscription fee, which is significantly subsidised through tax savings, everything is included. You won’t have to worry about insurance, roadside assistance, maintenance etc.
Until recently, salary sacrifice has been limited to long term leases on electric cars. This drastically limited which companies could offer the government tax savings to their employees and notably excluded companies with less than two years of trading. We’re delighted to now roll-out the subscription option to all businesses, regardless of size and stage of growth.

Subscription providers typically have cars available for delivery within 7 business days, which means you can enjoy driving your new electric car sooner! No need to worry about lead times or delays.
Subscription providers are also always updating their stock of cars to make more models and cars available - giving you more options for your next new or nearly new electric car.
Stress-free
Subscription providers make enjoying an electric car simple, bundling the car with insurance, maintenance and servicing, breakdown cover and road tax.
The bundle may also include access to certain charge stations. This gives you more time to enjoy driving the car, and less need to focus on admin.
Credit checks and young companies
Subscription providers have lower credit requirements, compared to leasing companies, due to the shorter nature of the hire arrangement.
If you arrange a subscription car through The Electric Car Scheme, your employer will complete a quick credit check - keeping the whole process quick and easy! This is especially great news for start-ups and other young companies that might want to offer salary sacrifice electric cars to their employees - until now, these companies were unable to pass the credit checks required by leasing companies, but now subscription makes it possible!
